Pose with a purpose.
When you pose be mindful of your stance and your posture. Slouching, unsettled feet, and twirling thumbs are all signs of an confident subject.
Be confident in your pose and follow through from head to toe.
Play with your facial expressions.
Have you ever taken a photo and loved everything about it, but hated your facial expression in the shot?
Go beyond your arms and stance in your pose and engage your facial expression in your photos. Show some emotion and excitement in some of your pictures!
It’s amazing to see what a different face can do for a shot. You than always have a few options from a pose you totally nailed!
Watch your Footwork.
Keep a close eye on your stance in your photos. I loved the shot on the right all the way until I got to my footing and realized I looked like a baby chicken. When taking pictures we can easily forget the placement of our feet.
Instead of standing with you feet together try separating them. This movement can we achieved by a walking motion like the top photo or a strong stance like the second photo.
See both stances on the left side are more powerful, purposeful, and given in a full shot with elongate your legs.
You can practice this in a full length mirror at home. See what looks good and to process what the stance feels like.
Play with your Profile.
Tilt your face slightly so you don’t face the camera squarely.
Turning your head slightly is more flattering than facing the camera straight on, because it will give your features more depth. Hello, cheekbones!
Find some Shade.
